Sweet victory against close rival club

After last week's dominant display against Rotherham, Grantham were very slow out of the blocks against a Hucknall side of players from far and wide yesterday afternoon. Without the heroics of goalkeeper Olly Kingham, Grantham would have been more than just 2-4 down at the end of the 1st quarter.
Keeping the players fresh through rotation, and key defensive marking by Flo Sadler, Sophia Cane, Isla Gray, Isobel Culham & Isla Kolbert, allowed Grantham to clawback into the match.

After a 2nd quarter hattrick from Sam Bellamy, Grantham found themselves 5-6 down at the half. If Grantham had converted more than 10 of its' 25 shots, they would have been out of sight, instead, we headed into the final quarter all square at 8-8. Two goals from pit defence maestro Henry Tasker finally moved Grantham into the lead with 4.42 remaining in the tie.

Hucknall pulled one back with 2.59 to play, but excellent clock management & a key time-out pep talk from Lordy finally saw Grantham over the line at 10-9.

A win against Sheffield (H) later today will see Grantham as runners-up in the League, with an outside chance of topping it. Great, close game, well played Grantham- coaches & TM were super proud.
