On Thursday evening Grantham Ladies headed over to Hucknall for a friendly. Our team was made up of 8 juniors Georgie, Connie, Evie, Isla, Florence, Isabel, Charis, Catriona plus our senior Gemma.

Hucknall fielded a 9-strong team consisting of 5 of this season’s BWPL Super 5s team and GB Goalkeeper Sophie L. Conditions are always tricky at Hucknall with no match or possession clock visible.

The first quarter started well, with Georgie opening up the scoresheet, followed by Connie before Hucknall got going. Q1 ended 4-3.

The second quarter saw some good pressing and organised player drops onto pit attack. Grantham Ladies were staying in touch finishing Q2 7-5.

Catriona did a great job in goal making a number of valuable saves.

Q3 and Q4 Hucknall scored 5 goals in each quarter and pulled away. Final score 17-8.

Goal scorers were Georgie (5) and Connie (3).

When you take into account the Hucknall pedigree in the pool, the final score of 17-8 was very respectable!! Well done all!!
