GWPC took a team of U15s to a wet and cold Rotheram on Sunday 5th March for a league match.

Coaches Dave & Fina confirmed it was a very close game throughout, as can be seen from the match sheet, a game that was decided by fine margins. There were some excellent individual battles for possession, although many of ours resulted in exclusion fouls, with Grantham conceding six majors vs Rotheram's 1.
Their team was arguably carried by an exceptional player, whose no.11 scored 9 of their 14 goals.
Considering our squad scored a respectable 12 goals and were well and truly in the match for the duration, we did also miss a fair few too.
Grantham also awarded the opposition two penalties which were converted to help give them the advantage.

Such close games provide our players and coaches valuable takeaway points for future training planning. i.e.
Learning to mark threatening players out of the game
Keeping those passes dry
Hitting shots on target

All these points will be developed further in the coming weeks/months.
